Title: Upstream Process Development (Sr.) Scientist
Company Summary: A mid-sized, leading gene therapy biotechnology company is currently seeking a driven, motivated, and enthusiastic Upstream Process Development Scientist as they develop their therapeutic pipeline. This position is located in the San Francisco, CA area. You will play a key role in aiding in the optimization of AAV vectors to produce therapeutic candidates.
The Upstream Process Development Scientist will be responsible for:
- Designing and carrying out studies to optimize processes and manufacture novel AAV vector therapeutics
- Demonstrating independence in regulatory writing and report generation
- Ensuring cross collaboration among the multidisciplinary teams including supply chain and analytical development teams
- Serve as liaison among manufacturing groups as well as serve as a mentor for junior colleagues
- Helping drive the clinical and commercial manufacturing processes for the company's novel therapeutics
The Upstream Process Development Scientist should have the following qualifications:
- D. in one of the following disciplines (Biology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, etc.)/Master's degree with 4+ years of related industry experience/Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of related industry experience
- Prior data trending experience with reactor data and upstream process development experience
- A strong background in mammalian cells and bioreactors
- An overall go-getter mindset and ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
