Job Summary
The Production Manager is responsible for leading all manufacturing activities using the Tiered management structure. This involves ensuring operational requirements are clearly understood and visual factory information is straightforward. The role includes verifying that all standard work is accurate and adhered to, directing all shift supervisors, and achieving manufacturing goals related to delivery, quality, and financial metrics. The manager will also drive Lean manufacturing solutions for all products and processes, collaborate with Planning to determine the necessary facilities, equipment, and processes to achieve optimal production capacity and work with functional leaders to identify and implement continuous improvement plans.

Job Duties
Scheduling and Standard Work:
- Coordinate all manufacturing work schedules with the Supply Chain Manager.
- Develop and maintain standard work for all positions to ensure clear role understanding.
Cost Reduction and Goal Achievement:
- Implement plans to minimize manufacturing costs through efficient use of resources.
- Ensure business objectives and production schedules are met while maintaining high product standards.
Staffing and Training:
- Manage staffing plans to ensure that the necessary personnel are trained and in place to support business objectives.
Technical Problem Solving and Process Improvements:
- Collaborate with Engineering and Quality to resolve technical issues and improve processes.
- Lead initiatives to reduce scrap, eliminate rework, and address material and labor variances.
Lean Manufacturing Implementation:
- Lead the implementation of lean manufacturing concepts.
- Train employees, facilitate kaizen events, and optimize product/process flow to eliminate waste.
Policy and Regulation Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to policies, rules, regulations, and procedures, including ISO9001, AS9100, ISO13485, NADCAP, and NASA requirements.
Reporting and Communication:
- Keep management informed of progress and unique problems, providing recommendations for solutions.
- Ensure product delivery performance and quality revenue generation.
Cooperation and Relationship Building:
- Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with all support areas.
Job Specifications
- Education: College degree in Business or a technical field, or equivalent education and experience.
- Experience: At least 4 years of supervisory experience in a similar manufacturing environment.
- Skills and Knowledge:
- Proficiency in lean manufacturing principles and their implementation.
- Expertise in electronics assembly, soldering, molding, plating, and progressive stamping products.
- Experience developing innovative manufacturing techniques.
- Strong leadership, motivation, decision-making, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience managing direct supervisors and an indirect staff of over 65 people, with multi-shift experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Open-mindedness and adaptability to change.
- Ability to facilitate, support, and implement organizational change.
- High dedication and willingness to work long hours when necessary.
