The FAS will be instrumental in demonstrating the capabilities of our technology to potential customers, planning and executing instrument demonstrations, and providing application support throughout the sales process. This role involves collaborating closely with the regional Business Development Manager (BDM) to ensure technical closure of sales, as well as overseeing the successful installation and training for purchased instruments. Additionally, the FAS will actively participate in workshops, trade shows, and conferences, and is a key member of the Global Applications Team.
This is a remote role with 60-70% travel
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and prepare customer demonstrations with the regional BDM, our Channel Partners and our customers.
- Provide expert technical consultancy on our client's analytical instrument
- Drive product usage and support sales through technical presentations, product demonstrations, and customer sample analysis.
- Collaborate with various departments to address customer queries and issues, ensuring high satisfaction.
- Filter and manage demonstration requests in partnership with Channel Partners or customers directly, including administrative tasks for successful demonstration completion.
- Contribute to customer feedback, report on competitors, and assist in product and service improvement initiatives.
- Handle customer applications queries, offering timely and effective solutions and alternatives.
- Conduct installation and training once the instrument is purchased.
- Support regional marketing initiatives at conferences, seminars, and customer workshops.
- Assist in creating and reviewing technical literature and training resources.
- Document customer interactions in CRM (Salesforce), and communicate effectively with customers and team members.
- Occasionally support the Service & Support team with instrument servicing.
- Travel within the region and to the HQ in the UK as needed (60% or more).
Skills and Experience
- Master's or PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biophysics, or related scientific fields.
- Hands-on experience with various bioanalytical techniques.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
- Experience in a customer-facing role with a service-minded focus.
- Proven ability to work independently and efficiently across different disciplines.
- Regular travel readiness (60% or more).
- Fluency in English; additional Asian language proficiency is advantageous.
- Experience communicating with diverse audiences and cross-functional teams.
