Associate Director, Downstream Process Development

Our Biotech client is a committed to the development and manufacturing of antibodies for inhibitory receptors on the surface to drive related CMC elements of small molecule biotherapeutics for 25 years.
Our client is looking to hire a downstream process development professional that will lead a growing team responsible for developing recovery and purification processes for precision fermentation-derived small molecules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and lead process development operations in support of the client portfolio
- Ensure that the cell manufacturing processes and products are developed, characterized, and optimized to support the client's strategy
- Lead the optimization and development of a robust manufacturing process that enables cGMP compliance
- Develop a culture to improve by identifying opportunities for the team
- Assist in attracting new clients through presenting and showcasing technical and scientific capabilities as they apply to potential clients
- Create plans within DS team to manage program load
- Oversee development and technical transfer of processes between Third Parties
- Plan downstream process development experiments for new molecules and supervise execution of the same
Key Qualifications:
- PhD with more than 4 years of relevant industry experience
- 10+ years of professional experience (with 2+ years in process development)
- Experience and working knowledge of downstream process development
- Good understanding of cGMP-regulations including relevant US/EU regulatory and quality requirements, practices, and standards
- Ability to multitask, work collaboratively, and manage a team in a dynamic team environment
