Scientist 1, Molecular Biology:
Essential Responsibilities:
- Design and conduct experiments to investigate molecular mechanisms and processes in our biological systems. Utilize a wide range of molecular techniques such as DNA and RNA analysis, gene expression profiling, protein analysis, and genetic engineering.
- Analyze experimental data using statistical methods and bioinformatics tools. Interpret and present results to contribute to scientific knowledge and make informed decisions in support of our team's and organization's goals.
- Explore and develop novel molecular techniques and methodologies to enhance our research capabilities and optimize experimental procedures.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of scientists, including geneticists, biochemists, and biotechnologists - to address complex research questions and contribute to collaborative projects.
- Equipment and laboratory management: Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment. Maintain accurate laboratory records and adhere to safety protocols to create a safe and efficient working environment.
- Training and mentorship: Provide guidance and training to junior scientists, laboratory technicians, and research assistants. Foster a collaborative and supportive environment to promote professional development and growth.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years' industry work experience.
- A Master's degree or Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, or a related field - preferred.
- Extensive experience in molecular biology techniques, including DNA and RNA analysis, gene expression profiling, protein analysis, and genetic engineering.
- Proficiency in using advanced laboratory equipment, molecular biology software, and bioinformatics tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex experimental data and draw meaningful conclusions.
- Solid understanding of statistical analysis and bioinformatics methods for data analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for scientific reporting, documentation, and collaboration.
- Proven ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented research environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
