Role: Research Associate (Pre-Clinical In Vivo)
Location: South San Francisco
Length: Contract to hire
Seeking a highly motivated candidate to join their Pre-Clinical In Vivo team and contribute to early-stage oncology projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform in vivo studies to evaluate efficacy in rodent models
- Proficient in the administration of test substances by various basic methods (i.e., IP, IV, SC, topical, etc.)
- Proficient in rodent bleeding (cardiac puncture, submandibular, tail vein, etc.), necropsy and tissue harvest procedures
- Perform in vivo imaging to monitor tumor growth
- Manage and observe animals for general health and overall wellbeing
- Adhering to SOPs to ensure study integrity and quality
- Collaborate with research teams on relevant ex vivo assays (Flow cytometry, PCR, ELISA, IHC, etc.)
- Maintain accurate experiment records in various internal databases and perform basic data analysis
- Perform other duties as directed by Management
- Train research staff as needed
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in life science or related discipline
- 2+ years of experience in animal laboratory setting
- Strong hands-on experience with animal handing, dosing (IP, IV and SC), bleeding, necropsy, and tissue harvest
- Experience with cell culture is a plus
- The ability to independently perform all methods and conduct all study types commonly employed by the team
- Good organizational and documentation skills
- Dedication to working in a team-oriented environment to contribute to shared project
- Strong work ethic, self-motivation, and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
- Excellent communication skills with ability to effectively communicate with other research teams
