EPM are supporting a Drug Substance Biologics ramp up where we are looking for a Head of Manufacturing responsible for all aspects of the manufacturing strategy design, scale-up and sustaining the site once operational.
The position is based in an agile team that is looking for members that can demonstrate their expertise. The ideal candidate must have a proven track record of extensive Manufacturing knowledge and experience gained within the biopharmaceutical/pharmaceutical industry sector.
Essential Job Functions:
*Developing the overall Manufacturing strategy as well as organize, develop and implement the strategic objectives for the Manufacturing team.
*During the construction phase and beyond, provide leadership and direction for all site production activities i.e. safety, supply planning, quality, cost, inventory and stock management, resource allocation and re prioritization of activities as needed.
*Support the interface between the site and corporate Manufacturing team, assuring that the objectives of the siteยดs team are aligned and delivered in time.
*Build and develop a high performing manufacturing management team, including the attraction, development and retention of talent.
*Set up and engage the team with Learning and Development initiatives and the performance management system. Develop a culture of continuous improvement, recognition and constructive feedback.
*Identify and drive opportunities to achieve optimal and cost effective productivity for the facility.
*Lead the formulation and execution of site production plans to deliver in line with forecasts and strategic objectives within defined timelines.
*Ensure appropriate processes and procedures are in place to enable the Manufacturing team to allocate resources and reprioritize production activities as needed.
*Lead the Manufacturing team to ensure best value is achieved by minimizing the working capital within the supply and by driving lean cGMP manufacturing practices where possible, without compromising quality and delivery. Operating in accordance with relevant regulatory standards of best practice and Environmental Health & Safety.
*Interface with Regulatory bodies as required, representing the site to relevant authorities and regulatory inspectors in matters relating to production management, quality, safety and risk.
*Perform other responsibilities assigned by the management.
*Perform as a role model for the Manufacturing function and also adhere to the corporate core values, local site shared commitments/behaviors.
Education:
*PhD, MSc or BSc in relevant manufacturing/life sciences discipline.
Experience:
* Experience in Manufacturing functions and team in a greenfield context of similar size and scale.
*Broad experience of relevant Manufacturing processes and systems in a regulated manufacturing environment.
*Relevant knowledge in a range of Manufacturing including Upstream & Downstream.
*Good abilities and strong sense of influencing senior managers, build relationship and be in charge of a global manufacturing strategy.
*Site leadership team experience in driving functional and cross function team excellence/business performance.
*Good communications skills and leadership capacity.
*Relevant experience in strategic/business planning, budgeting and reporting.
Other Skills / Abilities:
*Excellent oral and written communication skills, leadership ability and ethical judgment.
*Ability to lead a team and maintaining good relation with other departments.
*Strong decision making capability.
*Proven ability in leading a high performing teams, setting the highest professional standards.
