- Responsible for performing a wide variety of tasks related to drug safety.
- In charge of reviewing and evaluating adverse events related to use of pharmaceutical drugs, serving as a point of contact for stakeholders on safety activities, and identifying safety signals.
- In charge of answering questions from health workers, partners, and others, as well as ensuring compliance throughout the program with reporting requirements related to adverse events; this information must be passed along to entities such as relevant authorities, review boards, investigators, and drug producers.
- Typically requires three or more years of relevant experience and a bachelor's degree in biological science.
- Other requirements may include experience with the drug safety databases specifically Argus, as well as experience with basic computer programs such as the Microsoft Office suite.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, good communication and multitasking skills, and the ability to work in a team setting are also vital to success in the drug safety associate position
