A global Food Services company is seeking a Business Development Manager to support their operations in the USA. In this role, you will be responsible for driving profitable revenue growth in The United States and Canada within key service sectors of the company.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing sales efforts to achieve sales targets. This entails utilizing various communication channels such as telephone, video calls, in-person meetings, and participation in conferences/trade shows.
- Promptly responding to sales leads from various sources, thoroughly qualifying potential clients, and identifying their specific needs.
- Gathering essential information during the proposal process, including budget considerations, decision-making processes, and project time lines.
- Collaborating with technical experts to develop and deliver proposals within agreed time frames.
- Staying updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements to offer clients valuable insights.
- Keeping abreast of competitor information to enhance our competitiveness in bid situations.
- A strong knowledge of food safety programs and systems, encompassing HACCP, food microbiology, food chemistry, sensory testing, physicals testing, and research capabilities.
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience in the food testing industry.
- 2-5 years of relevant work experience, with previous sales experience being an advantage.
- Proficiency in technical sales techniques, Sandler/SPIN selling process, and client service.
- Strong computer skills and excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
- The ability to analyze situations, make informed decisions, and provide accurate information to clients.
