ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR, ADVANCED ANALYTICS COMMERCIAL
An exciting new opportunity within a small, but growing pharmaceutical company specializing in neurodegenerative disease. They have two approved products (one for the treatment of addiction and another for the treatment of schizophrenia) and a portfolio of pipeline product candidates. This position will be key member of the team providing analytical support to the commercial organization (Sales & Marketing Analytics teams and Health Systems Analytics teams). The Associate Director, Advanced Commercial Analytics, will be responsible for leveraging analytics (especially advanced analytics, ML and AI) to support the Commercial organization. S/he/they will work very closely with the Senior Director, Advanced/Predictive Analytics in building an effective and sustainable analytics foundation capable of delivering actionable insights for the Commercial organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Working with cross-functional partners (Sales & Marketing Analytics, Health Systems Analytics, Commercial Operations & Effectiveness, Commercial Data Governance and Market Research) and business partners to identify and plan analyses to support the Commercial organization's decision-making processes
- Gathering and preparing data for analysis
- Conducting hands-on analyses and modeling. Including patient journey analyses, customer segmentation, marketing mix modeling and optimization, lift analyses, and adoption analysis
- Serving as SME in efforts that leverage advanced analytics, ML and AI
- Partnering with IT to deploy solutions that are user-friendly and cost-effective
- Driving adoption of advanced analytics, ML and AI across the commercial organization by providing strategic consulting and education in all the areas of advanced analytics
- Staying current in technical areas (algorithms and software)
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Master's degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related subject. A PhD is preferred
- 6+ years (3+ with a PhD) hands-on experience in applying advanced analytics and ML to commercial problems in the pharmaceutical industry
- Deep understanding of the mathematical underpinnings of statistical modeling
- Extensive knowledge and experience with R and/or Python coding
- Strong knowledge of SQL
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with marketing mix modeling, customer segmentation and forecasting is preferred
- Experience with claims data is preferred
- Experience in collaborating with IT partners is preferred
- Excel in communication and presentation, both verbal and written, synthesizing information for all levels of management, including senior leadership
- Able to guide and influence business partners across all levels of the organization
- Able to work both independently and cross-functionally
- Superior project management skills, with the ability to effectively manage time, prioritize work and multi-task across multiple projects within a matrixed reporting structure
